Curriculum Statement- PSHE at Arundel Court

    Intent

The intent of our PSHE curriculum at ACPA is to deliver a curriculum which is accessible to all and that will maximise the outcomes for every child.

It aims to help them understand how they are developing personally and socially, and tackles many of the moral, social and cultural issues that are part of growing up within a diverse society.

The PSHE curriculum has 3 core learning themes:

    • Health and Wellbeing
    • Relationships
    • Living in the wider world

    Implementation

We follow the Jigsaw ‘spiral’ scheme of work as a guide to support teachers with their planning. Each year group has a long term plan and a progression document to ensure the core skills are regularly built upon year on year.

    Impact

Children will be well prepared for opportunities, responsibilities and experiences in later life.

Children will be emotionally aware and be equipped with strategies to express and share these.

Children will develop their sense of self-worth by playing a positive role in contributing to school life and the wider community.

Children will be able to ask thoughtful, challenging questions and clearly express their emotions.
